Summary

AEO Tuning measures how much revenue your store receives from AI assistants (ChatGPT, Perplexity, Copilot, Gemini) and audits whether those assistants can read your product catalog. We do not collect, store, or process any personal information about your customers.

What we access

With your permission, the app reads the following through the Shopify Admin API:

• Orders — creation date, total amount, currency, financial status, and the traffic-source fields Shopify records (referring site, landing page, UTM parameters). We request read_all_orders so the report can cover the last 90 days; a shorter history makes the core feature meaningless.
• Products — title, description, product type, vendor, barcode/GTIN and metafields, used to compute an AI-readiness score.
• Your storefront — public pages are fetched to check robots.txt rules, structured data (JSON-LD) and whether AI crawlers can read your pages.

What we store

Only the minimum needed to produce the report:

• Your shop domain and an access token, so the app can talk to Shopify.
• Per order: the Shopify order ID, creation date, total, currency, the detected traffic source, and the landing path.
• Per product: an ID, title, and the readiness score with its individual checks.
• App events such as page views and upgrade-button clicks.

We never store customer names, email addresses, phone numbers, shipping addresses, payment details, or IP addresses. None of those fields are read into our systems at any point.

How we use it

Solely to generate the reports shown inside your Shopify admin. We do not sell, rent, or share your data. We do not use it to train machine-learning models. We do not build cross-merchant profiles or benchmarks that could expose your figures to anyone else.

Sub-processors

• Railway — application hosting and the PostgreSQL database.

If we add a sub-processor (for example an email provider for notifications), this page is updated before that provider handles any data.

Retention and deletion

• Data is kept only while the app is installed.
• When you uninstall, everything belonging to your shop is deleted within 48 hours. The short grace period exists so that reinstalling the same day does not lose your report history.
• We handle Shopify's mandatory privacy webhooks. Because we hold no customer personal data, customers/redact and customers/data_requesthave nothing to erase or export; shop/redact deletes every record belonging to your shop immediately.
• You can request deletion at any time by emailing us.

Your rights

Depending on where you are located, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete the data we hold about your shop. Email us and we will act on it within 30 days.

Security

Access tokens are stored in an access-controlled database and transmitted only over TLS. Because we hold no customer personal data, the impact of any incident is limited to shop-level aggregate figures.

Changes

Material changes will be reflected here with a new “last updated” date. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the updated policy.
